Dear Runners, Sponsors and Supporters,
After much thought and consideration, and due to the pandemic that has overwhelmed our communities, The James Metz Memorial Fund has come to the difficult decision to cancel this year’s annual 5k Run scheduled for June of 2020.
Every year, we honor James’ memory, integrity and love for basketball during this event. Although these circumstances have placed a halt on our doing so together, we ask that you honor James in other ways: donating to a cause close to your heart, continuing to support local businesses, assist or donate to health care workers who are sacrificing their time and resources, and celebrating your own families by staying safe and healthy.
The James Metz Memorial Fund will continue to award an annual scholarship of $5,000 to a student who is just as James was: musical, athletic and loved life. Until we meet again, all of our best to you and your families.
Please reach out to your guidance counselor at St. Marys High School, Depew High School, or Lancaster High School to fill out an application.
